The results of the latest Census of the forests and wildlife sanctuaries in Telengana has been revealed in official records by the forest officials. The 4-yearly census was conducted in January 2018 in the Pocharam wildlife sanctuary on the Medak-Kamareddy borders, Haveli Ghanapur, Medak-Ramayampet, Chegunta, Narsapur, Jinnaram, Kaudipally, Veldurthy, Shiv ampet, Papannapet and Narayankhed forest areas in the erstwhile Medak district of Telengana. As per report, 10 leopards have been recorded along with 10-15 bears in the area. Forest officials have also found proof of the presence of panther, wolf, jackal and fox in Raipally at Jinnaram. Leopards, bear, sambar, neelgai, chausinga, Krishna deer, wild boar, wild dogs and peacocks have been recorded in Pocharam wildlife sanctuary, Ramayampet, Haveli Ghanapur, Narsapur and Medak forest areas. 84 forest beats were conducted throughout the district by forest officials and volunteers.
